The Adopter Network

You may not realize it, but a vast network of shelter volunteers, previous pet adopters and pet lovers like yourself are all right here at your disposal. Why not put them to work?

Question:

What are some foods you should never give to dogs?

Answer:

Chocolate, especially dark chocolate, onions, grapes and raisins can all be toxic to dogs. In large quantities, or with small dogs, they can even be fatal.

The sweetener xylitol, added to many dental products such as sugar-free gums, mouthwash, breath mints and toothpaste, as well as products made for dieters and diabetics, is deadly to dogs even in small amounts. Xylitol-containing products need to be kept out of the reach of dogs, or better yet, not used at all if there are dogs in the family.
